Your Top Three Favorite SRW Games
#11
I am fascinated that the Z2 duology has more votes than Z1, considering the very positive reception of that game here when it first came out.

V has kind of a ... retro cool, if that makes any sense. Lots of familiar series coming back for another run, but also Yamato. That counts for a lot, I think. That, and the game's pretty well done, if you ask me.

^Being the first main SRW in English also really, really helps.
It got my friend who otherwise won't touch SRW a chance to play it.
And he's pretty stoked with Yamato, ended up watching the entire series. So yeah, V is Victory!

1. SRW OG2 (GBA)
2. SRW Z (PS2)
3. SRW OGs2 (PS3)

These three games are what I always regard as my best memories with the series. I would love to put T up there on the list in March!

1.Z1 : best story, main characters, series integration, good gameplay, music selection, series interactions and average quality of animations
2.W : beside being too easy, it's pretty good in every single respect, is perhaps the best at mantaining a single narrative theme and i have a soft spot for it for being the first SRW i was able to almost completely understand without guides
3.64 : no, really. Loved what it did with its multiple characters, secrets (especially OG characters related ones) and very extensive route splits.

I'd put UX (pretty much for the same reasons as W) and GC just a little bit under these.

For me, Z1 while I did enjoy it, had a lot of things I just didn't enjoy. The originals for instance. I never cared for Rand, thought Setsuko was okay at best, and thought the game kinda dragged at times.

This is by default, since there are only three games I've played. (Though I have a list somewhere of SRW games I'd love to play before I die.)

1. SRW V. This is top because it was the first one I ever played myself. I've seen gameplay and such of other entries, but this is the first one I played myself. One of my main reasons for liking it is that it's easy enough for people that have never played a SRW game before to get into. It also has Brave Express.

2. SRW Z3 Tengoku-Hen. I mostly put it here for the variety of series. Playing this also realized how spoiled I was with being able to use Spirit Commands in counterattacks.

3. SRW X. I'll have to admit that this is at a very close tie with Z3, with me putting Z3 over it simply because I like more of Z3's series choices and the larger variety. While I like a handful of the series in X, I found it overall okay. I'll admit that I liked how they kicked up the difficulty from V, even on Easy.

Alpha Gaiden is another consistent choice, perhaps unsurprisingly.

I am curious as to why you give this slot to Impact, Kern, since I have a clear memory of the game giving you a ton of grief in your commentary for various reasons.
