Super Robot Taisen stream Nov. 19

I wonder if the livestream itself will be shorter if there is no XO content, I think there was some XO stuff in the last couple of streams (new SRW game announcement streams that is)

Safe bet is we’ll get X-O stuff in the second half. The game just sent out new tickets for a later event in the dailies, we’ll find out what those are for probably.

I don't think they can pull the "hardware" card after two transitions. Z plot could have easily been resolved on the PSP itself. Stretching it to the PS3 was extremely odd.

By that logic, Alpha 3 was a mistake.

Sounds about right.

(Of course the same logic would say 4 was a mistake and especially F/Final, which I can’t agree with.)

You are correct, they could have ended it all with the PSP games. Bandai on the other hand had announced SRW for next gen console since banpresto had announced they would release one for the PS3, I'm pretty sure they had decided to bring Z series to the PS3 with the original Z engine in the similar vein as Alpha games (From PS1 to PS2) but once they saw how the PS3 was a 30x30x30 rubix cube of development hell, whch limited what they could do, we got an "OK" SRWZ Sequel which was split in two. the Z engine really had a lot of potential specially in SRWZ1 for PS2, there have been some improvements in the recent PS4 releases and one can hope they have a new engine that is enough to blow people's mind by improving animation sequences and a much more indepth gameplay

Last anyone checked up on them, they seem to be actually dead. Also if that’s the case it was a four year gap in between games and it makes you wonder what the blazing fuck they’ve been doing, because they in no way need that much time for what is inherently going to be a lower budget title.

They made the fmp game. Winkysoft sas dead. Anyway, it us clear that bandai is investing much less in the brand, after so many flops

The FMP game was a budget anime tie-in title made by the main SRW BB Studio and these anime tie-in games Namco Bandai likes to put out. And it pretty much used the assets from SRW Neo.

As for flops, while the sales numbers aren't as good as the PS2 and PSP days, there isn't any evidence that these mainline games are doing that poorly. There is also digital sales to take in which is a ever growing market on the PS3 and especially PS4 and that these games are also priced higher for consumers than the PS2/GBA/PSP games were.

If anything, the Winkysoft games are the most flops, those Masoukishin games were very dated and sold quite worse than the OG games too.

To be honest, if it wasn't for the cash the X-Omega brings in, there wouldn't be as many console/handheld SRW, especially with the interesting cast lists that they've had lately. The sales have been poor for a long time now, and it seems to get worse as the years go by.
