it's been confirmed the western release WILL be changing the appearance and actor due to the stupid cocaine issue. However the western release will not be delayed.

Its far too early for a sequel to be even considered at this time, its only been a few months since this game came out in Japan not to mention they are in the early process of making the next mainline Yakuza game.

I just hope they still have japanese voice in the US release and they don't think like "Hey, we could just change the 3D model of the character, and since we already have english dub for everyone, let's just scrub the japanese voice so we no longer have Pierre Taki in the credits."

They have no intention of taking out the JP voice option, they'll change the voice for the actor that got in trouble with a patch/update.

Unless you mean keep the JP voice of Pierre Taki in the US version? Cause that is very likely not gonna happen. Either the game itself will have the changes once the US version comes out to match the updated JP version, or a system update will do that.

Yakuza games from my knowledge do not have much system updates...

^I hope that works.
What I was talking about is using a rocket launcher to destroy the building that one sniper perched on.
SEGA removing the whole japanese voice just so the US version doesn't have Taki's voice in it sounds... plausible.

Well, I hope whoever replaces Taki doesn't sound patched on. Big Grin

I have yet to see a JP game that does a bad job with voices, especially these Yakuza games. And given that JP voices is a pretty big deal in these games, its pointless to remove them, especially after saying its not gonna be affected, there are still a few months left for the US release so they can get that character model/voice work done on the JP side.

I have yet to see anything that has delayed the game on the US end. Game is still set to come out on the intended date in the US.
