Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 possible on PS4 if there's enough demand!

All the Yakuza stuff up to now had pretty much been in development since before Sega became all like...cool, as they have been lately. I would not doubt that if there's a Yakuza 7 or whatever, that could be multi-platform. I would not be shocked if we get a few Steam ports, as has been the case with a number of legacy Japanese titles.

Bullet Witch just came out on Steam. Bullet Witch!!!

That's different though. Bullet Witch, Sen no Kiseki I and II, etc etc etc were all ported via another party not the developers. In the case of the 3 mentioned, Marvelous NA and ExSEED themselves. Many japanese devs don't like the porting over to PC because it's often a hassle.

Even Idea Factory and Compile Heart who were one of the first japanese developers to openly express the feelings for fan demands to put the Neptune games on Steam still rely mainly on Idea Factory International to port them to PC, and not directly IF/CH Japan.

Peronally if it means getting 3 and above on PS4, I'd rather they focus on that then a PC port.

@Andy have you tried the PSP games? there was an English patch in the work, have it ever get released.
I remember watching an episode or 2 of the Drama TV series, i remember it was good.

I tried a bit. Don't really like them since it's japanese heavy, though.

No surprise here, a simple upped port of Yakuza 3-5 on PS4 with improved resolution/frame-rate. I think they have a high chance of being localized, given they were already translated they could re-use the translation. Although with 3 they don't have to block some of the mini-games in the original localized version that was quite strange, but thankfully none of the other games did that again.

English Localization is probably and is most likely actually the reason we're getting them. Someone in the 5ch thread posted the sales figures (same user believed to be part of the staff) and apparently Ryu0 and Kiwami generated more money in the western and asian markets then in japan. Kiwami III will probably get a short shot in a collage during the sony conference.

Reusing the translation however might not be as simple though. If it wasn't stated in the original north american contract that a future version of the game could reuse the script, they'll probably have to pay at least some sort of Royalties. Same goes for voice work and music but that's never a problem in Japan since they don't do the whole BS writers guild thing over there.

If thats the case, they might just re translate it entrely since they'll most likely be added a few new things that require translation anyways. I did't play the original earlier games but just because they're form that era in western localization, I'd assume there were some liberties in the older localization.

I'd probably skip 3 and 4, since I've already finished them in PS3. Yakuza 5 is a definite buy for me, since that's the only Yakuza I haven't played beside 0.

Besides, there's bear punching and Kiryu's Crazy Taxi Initial D in it, right? XD

Hopefully this means the various RgG stuff in Phantasy Star online 2 gets reprinted. I want For Faith/For Face/ whatever the main theme was as my My Room theme. I'd buy it from the market boards but it's so old no oNE is selling it.

Fly ~In Game version~ too. Also on that not, if you prefer order the games you'll get a code to DL the soundtracks.
