Any thoughts on Raideen, Daimos, Trider G7, Baxinger, Sasuraiger, God Sigma, Baldios, Dangaioh, and/or Jeeg AceWhatever?

The oldest of the series mentioned in this thread that I've seen is Godmars. I found it alright, though I'll admit I skipped most of the second story arc because I felt it was overstaying its welcome. I have about 7 or 6 episodes left, so I thought I might as well finish it.

As Voltes-V said about Combatler-V ending with the first 26 (or was it 25) episodes, the same can be said about Godmars, it ended with the first season but the popularity of the show got it the extended fillers.

I don't think Grendaizer reached 90 episodes @Voltes-V, i think it was around 70+.

We need more new Go Nagai Mecha shows in our lives.
The man seems really active. no Mecha Anime though.

Edit:
Also as you suspected, Dancouga TV Show ended prematurely, read up the earlier posts about it (we talked all about it and its wasted potential + the original plot that got heavily altered because of said cancellation) and the reasons for its return.

By Jove Vincent, you're right, Grendizer is only 74 eps, lol.

@DragoEnvoy. Daimos is a good series, though at times the romance dynamic tends to slow it down. In order, Voltes-V>Daimos>Combattler-V

I wonder if it perhaps worked out for the best, because the last half of the show is way better than the first - so if they had something else they were building towards, they clearly took too long.

By the way, where are people getting information on its apparent original plot? Although it was mentioned here before, come to think of it I don't know where that comes from.

Also, this thread being bumped has brought to my attention the 4 episode OVA series Dancougar Blazing Epilogue has been entirely subbed. You know, the one everyone hates! I'd seen the first episode when it was covered years ago and thought it was OK, so I am looking forward to finding out what is so bad (or, I suspect, boring) about it.

Dangaioh: It...exists I guess? It's been over 10 years since I watched and I barley remember the broad plot. But apart from the ending there's nothing bad about it and it's practically a movie so it's too short for me to not recommend watching it.

Reideen/Baxinger/Sasuraiger/God Sigma: None of these are fully available in English yet (as far as I know).

Baldios: The official English release just came out last month. I only watched the movie so far and I'm running on second hand info from SRWZ so I tend to confuse which villains are from Baldios and which are from God Sigma. I'm guessing this will be one those shows that rely more on character interactions then the mecha stuff, though I hope they don't waste too many episodes before the racist co-pilot pulls the giant stick out of his ass.

Jeeg/Daimos/Trider G7: These became available in English recently and I only found out a few weeks before SRWT was announced so I haven't watched them yet. I have high hopes for Jeed and Daimos. The problem is that I just started Dougram and I'm barely a 3rd of the way through that and my anime watching time has been shrinking considerably over the past few months so I'm not sure when I'll get around to these three shows considering my mecha backlog is pretty bloated as is. I'm also thinking of jumping ahead one decade everytime I finish a show so I'm not stuck watching 70s-80s stuff forever because there's a ton of post-2000s shows I want to get around to watching plus the last Brave/Eldran shows that were finished last year.

Bonus: New Tetsujin-28 (aka 80's Tetsujin): The show also recently became available in subtitled English but for some reason I can't find it anywhere.

New Tetsujin is good (the OST too) , it is like the walking 80's.

Baldios is one of my top super robot series. I really enjoyed my watch through before Z came out.

BTW is there a site with a decent sub of Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger. The one that I frequent has an atrocious HK sub of Mazinger Z, calling Dr. Hell Dr. Hill and Baron Ashura as Master Asia!

Discotek released them in the US. I'm sure someone has ripped it by now.
