Moon War is a prequel, it came out after the anime was already done. Although people keep repeating this everywhere religiously, so I can't blame anyone else for being confused.

If someone could sub it you mean.
While i wouldn't hold my breath, i found subs for Gaia Gear (the very popular future of UC at the time) once in the past iirc, it could happen.

What really surprise me though is after all these years you would think that our community would have helped translated/sub an anime or a game or two (or anything Mecha related really), i can't think about anything other than the faqs and guides and there is not much recently.

I remember GGG back in the days having a go at the PSX Yuusha games but it went nowhere, would it kill for someone to translate/hack say Getter Robo Daikessen or Geppy Robo X (yeah, i know LOL).

Impossible!!! seriously?!
The Moon War Drama & Getter  Robo Daikessen (the Getter Anniversary Project) used the original Anime cast iirc, i thought that the decision was made to change the cast for the Anime only.

Are you sure about this?

I'm not sure what you mean, the Moon War drama CD uses the Armageddon voice cast.

The Armageddon OVA ran from August 1998 to May 1999, and the Moon War drama CD came out in June 1999. All information I've run into indicates that it only came out in the form of that CD, so there wasn't a prior radio broadcast or anything (I believe the whole thing is only like 45 minutes long anyway). Armageddon referring to a past event that was never depicted beforehand was a deliberate thematic choice, but it seems like people doubt that simply because the prequel CD exists at all.

The official site even seems to refer to it as the "missing story", and the name of the CD is actually "Shin Getter Robo Gaiden" to start with (the rest of its long subtitle is "ten year lunar war - premonition" or some shit like that).

The only drama that had the original VA's was "Getter Robo vs Getter Robo G" based on the same manga story by Ken Ishikawa but it was really cool cause the entire direction was like listening to a missing Getter Robo G episode.

Akira Kamiya was only narrator in "Moon War" drama CD just like the OVA.

As far as I know, Akira Kamiya is the only Getter Robo alumnus in the Getter Robo Daikessen video game.

Shin Getter Robo: Gaiden Getsumen Juunen Sensou ~ Senritsu no Yokan. I think it was also referred to as the "Crater Battle".

There was also a manga connected to Armageddon that was released in 2001 titled, Shin Getter Robo!! Ibun Try to Remember. From what I can understand, it is the only appearance of Getter Zero.

Yeah. I thought long and hard about whether I should recommend someone to watch the TV show or just skim it. The "watch" verdict won by a hair. There's really nothing special about the three enemy generals. They're pretty one note and won't impress anybody except maybe the handful of people for whom somehow Goshogun is among the first 5 mecha anime they ever watched nowadays. The ANN people think that the generals' quirks humanizes them which I think is bullshit considering they're OK with the atrocities that Docooga commits.

And then there's the movie which I've been hearing about for years. I read and reread reviews and impressions of it before and after watching it and I still don't understand what the fuck people are on about when they praise this thing. First of all, unless those old English DVD releases had the compilation movie, the idea of going into Time Entranger without having any knowledge of the TV show is a little bonkers. Second the whole movie feels like someone wanted to do an artsy fartsy metaphor story but no one cared to let him do it with original characters so they let him tack it on to a boring epilogue to Goshogun where nothing interesting happens outside of the metaphor.

GoShogun was famous for being a late parody of the genre, it in itself is too old to the point that people actually put it together in the same category it was poking fun at (Read: old mecha shows).
