Netflix's "Voltron: Legendary Defender"

Personally, it looks more like an Evangelion unit than a Super Robot with its slimmer design, but otherwise I have no problem with it.

It's the best version of Lion Voltron I've seen that wasn't the Golion version, though I think they should have redid the crest somehow rather than ditching it altogether. The description of the way they want to take the show has promise, but I can also see it going horribly wrong too.

Info on the characters:
http://tooninferno.blogspot.com/2016/03/...cters.html

- Shiro/Sven is the leader and pilots the Black Lion.
- Pidge and Hunk remain in their respective Lions
- Allura is dark skinned with pointy ears and is Lance's love interest
- Showrunners are alumni from Legend of Korra

Here's the teaser, though I mashed it up with the GoLion intro.

It looks like they mashed Voltron/GoLion with Impulse Gundam and Taekwon V Big Grin

Another good article on the latest details.

Character designs actually look decent, and of course it makes sense now that it's all ex-Korra people. Shiro is stupid handsome, will probably be popular in fan art, and will almost certainly die die die.

I remain as uninterested in this incarnation as the last ones, though - on top of the usual ugh-cgi-robot-ness, I remain skeptical anything that interesting will come of mining what was already a pretty shallow series to begin with yet again. Yes, I watched Voltron as a kid and liked it plenty, but yeesh.

I wonder from which Brave show did they copy the internals during the combination sequence?

I remember being super stoked about the sequel before seeing it had the new kids and bleh art. Didn't care too heavily for that one.

This one, on the other hand, might be real fun. Lots of old shows keep getting these reboots and what not. I would LOVE a good one, for a change. Really liking the character designs, loving the robot, and I can't wait to see what's up with Allura and the things I read about her doin' the things she's gonna do.

I agree on this one. At least they should make an adaptation of Vehicle Voltron. Too bad it's not popular in the U.S., albeit it's very popular here in Mexico, Latin America and Russia.

For me I have high hopes for it because it has a very competent staff and the CGI looks good since it's from dreamworks. Consider me excited for the premier of the show.

Also I am glad they changed Sven's name to Shiro
