Project Z (Gaogaigar x Betterman) Returns...
#1
...as a novel series. The site also has novelizations of Raijin Oh, Votoms, and Gundam: Twilight Axis.

Hopefully someone will translate this, but I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe if the novels do well enough they'll animate them.

I don't know if Project Z which was meant to be a anime, then cancelled, can be brought back up for animation after being adapted/salvaged into a novel... It seems unlikely given its troubled history.

Let's not forget that Takara also has a say in Brave series and not just Sunrise.

I don't think there will an anime let alone an OVA for this, not in the current state the anime industry is.

We live in times where the only mecha show this summer is Knights and Magic, Mecha genre is japan is only alive at the moment with Gundam, too many mecha shows since 2009 have failed to captivate audiences, even good shows have had terrible DVD/BD sales. SoI highly doubt sunrise will even consider animating GaoGaiGar in the next few years....

ID-0's still going on for a few more weeks.

That said I'm totally happy that Project Z is never getting animated because it's one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard of.

I totally agree, although I also say don't forget about Macross being one of the few healthy mecha shows, Delta was very popular especially with the merchandise although the 2nd half of the story was pretty weak. Even Gargantia which was a popular show, had its sequel planned anime scrapped and turned into a light novel instead...

Super robot shows are even more niche and very few shows aired within the past few years compared to real robot shows.
