The best part is you somehow think liking old and obscure stuff makes you NOT a hipster when that is he literal definition of that word, but the part where you think Dancouga Nova is universally disliked is pretty hilarious too.

I like Nova.

Nova should go back to 00, act like a real robot again and go back to doing all the real robot routes in Z2.1.

I like Nova when it’s handled well. It was alright in L and Z2-1 and decent in UX, but the other games with it did nothing of note with it and that drags it down.

I can't find myself to like it. I blame Banpresto when they include post-plot series and do absolutely nothing with them plot-wise. No characterization and almost barebones crossover interaction. Players shouldn't get the "Why the fuck are they even in the game?" feeling but then again, I never did play the games for the story.

Scenario 25: NT-D (Investigate Neo Zeon Route)

As to why Jin hasn't been killed or kicked out for infiltrating our crew's base - nobody knows. Boy needs a haircut. We also finally get the ability to use "NT-D" and the Zeta gundam. It's been a long time coming. Next on the list is Amuro. The lack of original villains in this game is kind of depressing. Maybe one of them or "allies" will show up soon to spice the story a bit.

I don't know why you are questioning the "why is *insert blank* series still in this game" in SRW. Alpha series was like this too, with plenty of shows whose plot ended in the previous game. Dancouga Nova and Daiguard debuted in Z2 and stuck around for Z3, they still have interaction with the rest of the cast. Its kind of a moot point if you are already saying you don't play the games for the story, meaning it shouldn't matter to you. Baldios and God Sigma would be the same way, their stories were completely done in Z1 but still showed up for Z2 along with Gainer for no real reason either. That's just how SRW tends to be.

It isn't exactly questioning as to why a certain series is there but as to how it's handled and the absence of purpose behind the respective characters. I understand your reasoning but just because it has been prevalent in the series doesn't make it resistant towards improvements/changes/critcism. It might not be a moot point when a slightly engaging story could reverse my opinion and further incentivize me to play future entries. My argument is thus - there is nothing wrong with changing the formula a bit. Disappointing sales of the series can reinforce my point. Maybe some of my points could be the reason for the declining sales of the series. To say it's because it's a niche series would be a weak argument considering that's a counter that's been beaten to a dead horse for the past decades when it comes to discussing why X srw did fantastic and why X srw did shit.

*I've noticed Daiguard having interactions but the Dancouga Nova crew has barely done anything. Aoi maybe has had like 10 lines for the past 20 scenarios. Thus is the reasoning, "What is the point of including x series?". NEO is a prime example. It's why I couldn't get into it. It was handled by amateurs. "Let's include G Gundam. Just Domon. Fuck the shuffle alliance." "Hey guys, how about including Iron Leaguer? Let's draw paper slips out of a hat and let that determine which of the characters get in."
**As to how that's how SRW is tended to be is precisely why I can understand why some of the users on this board had reluctance to try SRT X out.

I understand your criticism, sometimes people just lose interest, many other games in long running series have been losing steam too since nowadays compared to previous console generations. Mecha anime in general has been in a decline for quite awhile, srw sales dropping is a result of that too. Its the shows that have actual plot that have more interaction usually, Super Robot stuff suffer more in interaction when they are post series in SRW I've come to notice, compared to Gundam that have more interactions overall.

I would say, keep playing, you'll see more interaction later on, its a very large cast, and it takes time to give people especially returning ones more interaction.

Scenario 26: Demon Beast Prince, Awakens (Investigate Neo Zeon Route)

It's a Tetsujin-28 focused stage where we get to first meet Guura, a person of royalty whom I suppose is related to the Space Devil we encountered last time. The lack of Banpresto originals in Z3.1 is a bit strange when you compare it to Alpha 3. After all, they're both trilogies and Z seems to be the less ambitious for some reason. Last time I peeked into the Z3.1 database... there's only 3 ally originals and who knows how many original villains. It's a crime to withold Setsuko from players until 3.2. You know, I never understood the need to stretch the Z trilogy for so damn long. If 2 and 3 were just standalone titles in themselves, people may not have lost interest. Back on topic - Basara and crew joins us. Reminds me of the SRW D days. Would be awesome to see Daltanious return one day.

If your sole qualifier for ambition is amount of presence the OGs have, hooo fucking boy, strap in, because Z3 overall is the most “ambitious” any SRW has been by an order of magnitude.
