Quote:Animedia Layzner cancelled Grados Arc reveal, as transcribed from excerpts. Issue number not known to me as of writing. The whole article has yet to be archived, hopefully that'll happen soon. I'm holding out for the hero at animarchive to come through with that one someday.

Anyway, here we go, in order:

p61

Director Takahashi Ryousuke Reveals: This is the 52-episode version of Layzner!

"Layzner", which wrapped up at 38 episodes, had a story that consisted of a whole 52 episodes. The details of this story are revealed here!

Judgement
Having brought peace to Earth, Eiji and Julia are once again victims of its folly. Just as Gradosians have no right to rule over Earthlings, so do Earthlings have no right to pass judgement on Gradosians. But Eiji's argument falls on deaf ears.

p62

Rescue
The trial should have been nothing but a farce, but the decision it handed down was far from a laughing matter. The Gradosians are being abused by Earthlings for fun. Eiji spurs on Layzner, and begins to fight for them.

Escape
Perhaps Earthlings and Gradosians are not capable of uniting after all. Eiji leads the Gradosians' exodus. But just like the way that Julia proposed, this solution is only a temporary measure that takes the form of a flight.

p63

Faceoff
Le Caine has quite honorably kept his promise to Rowan and returned home. But he still has to settle the matter of his fight with Eiji, and the matter of his life philosophy.

Reunion
Eiji is not the only one to have suffered these past three years. Eiji's parents have also lived as prisoners on Grados after seeing off their only son. Overcoming their pain, parents and son meet once more.

p64

Climax
The Main Computer is the inheritor of the will of the original native Gradosians, and the one responsible for raising the modern Gradosian people. Eiji and Layzner face off against the Main Computer in an effort to convey the secret it holds to all Gradosians.

Quote:A few in memoriam tweets from Japan translated by me, Ametuchi:

First up, Obari:

Shioyama-san first met me when I did the Dragonar OP, and he honored me by saying: "I am studying your drawings, Oobari-kun."

Daitarn 3 is still my favourite work, and I have always respected him.
Most of all, I wanted, just once, to work with him.
Thank you very much for all of your incredible works.

[NB: As many may remember, Oobari was 19 when he did that famous off-model op. The poor teenager must have been suffering from a lot of criticism for doing his own thing, so to have sempai praise him so highly in that moment must have meant the world to him.]

"Shioyama-san isn't an animator, but an artist" is what Kanayama-san said. That was 30 years ago...

[NB: This was probably Kanayama Akihiro, who produced a lot of super robot shows: http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?sho...torid=5441

Thanks, Gun-chan. Here's another translated tweet:

A man of slight means who is yet detached from the world...
One who had much in common with Chirico, as described by Director Takahashi: "A man without dreams or hope, but who never despairs". Now, I can only pray.
