SRW Comprehensive Running Commentary
Yes, it's dependent on will; every one of Basara'songs decreases Vajra's Will, and if they are under/are brought under a certain quantity (120 Will, i think) when hit they instantly retreat, whether they be mooks or battleships. It's pretty powerful in Z2 and in Z3 it devolves into utter map-wiping hilarity.

Keep this in mind, by the way, when playing UX and using Mark Sein.

Stage 41B
SR: Defeat 100 Vajra in 4 turns

MAP attacks and Basara, etc.

This stage allows Klan to join the ranks of people outside of robots:

Of course she's mad about Michel, but he pops back up at the end of the stage. He died in the show, didn't he? In L it was an optional secret to have him survive but it seems like here he just reappeared regardless.

Stage 42B
SR: Defeat all the enemies before Chirico reaches the point

This is episode 49 of Votoms (at least the name), so we're coming up on the conclusion of that show, rather suddenly. The SR point isn't hard. Chirico is slow, and he can dodge everything so he can do a lot of damage on his own to the enemies by him. If you really want to make the SR point easy you can just block the destination with your own guys so Chirico can't get there.

Next up it looks like close to the end of Votoms, or maybe the end. Chirico is now talkative and evil.

Michael died in the show, but at this point they were already planning on using the movies as a weird post plot thing to the show (if you've not seen F, think something like using DYRL as a sequel to the original Macross.), and he lives through those. Brera dies in the movies though, or at least it's very likely he does.

Also this is the last time in the entire franchise Armored Klan was playable. She was fully usable in L, then one half a stage in this game (and it was advertised too!), and then never again. Thanks OE.

You could use some sort of illegal code to make Armored Klan playable all the way to the end. Big Grin

Too bad Saisei was the first game to not have a save editor, as the people making those stopped doing them.

Stage 43B
SR: The 3 Votoms characters need 3 kills, then beat Chirico in 4 turns

The SR point is annoying because so many of the enemies have support defend, so you have to do some work to let people get kills. Having Move Again helps a lot, and Chirico's HP aren't that high for the units I have now. I like that they gave Kallen a special line for Chirico.

So this is the end of Votoms, I guess. Of course Chirico wasn't really evil, he was just pretending to kill Wiseman. And it sounds like Dancougar was finished up on the other route, although I wasn't clear on whether Muge is still around. Also is this "Black Wisdom" they keep talking about something from one of the anime or is it a SRW original?

I forgot to take a screenshot for this stage, sorry. Also I just realized I've completely forgotten to use Suborders for the whole game, but I guess it's not that useful.

Muge was. The other route goes through God Bless Dancouga, which includes Muge coming back to life after his death in Requiem.

Yeah, that was in Scramble Commander 2. I remember that because there was a glitch with the game where the events would occur in the wrong order if you lured the boss unit out of the room it starts it.

It was also in Compact 1.
