Mozilla Firefox browser help - Garou - 07-02-2018

I haven't been able to access some websites (SRWG, dalong.net, MAHQ, etc.) using Firefox on my laptop. However, I don't encounter this problem on my phone. That rules out an issue with the ISP.

My phone uses Chrome so I tried that browser on my laptop. It's worse than Firefox (can't even go to http://www.google.com). I've uninstalled Firefox, deleted my profile, ran anti-virus/malware programs, and tried Firefox safe mode. Still, the problem persists.

Has anyone encountered a similar predicament? Is there a fix?

Assuming you're using some version of Windows, have you tried safe mode with networking if possible?

Maybe system restore to a few weeks ago might do the trick?

Apparently, adding "https://" before the site address fixes the problem. Although, once in a while, this site doesn't load fully: white background, most text are on the left side, and only certain images are visible (site banner and avatars).

Sometimes it happens. Adding https causes the site to behave oddly, tho.

I've literally had the same problem a few times as well the last few months, and also all on this laptop I'm currently useing. My only quick fix was to annoyingly do a system roll back. =/

Since it's a laptop, have you thought about getting a new wireless card? It's one of the few parts you can actually swap out easily, and that might be the source of your problems.

Never really occured to me. It's pretty old, so it might now be worth the effort. It's like a 5+ year old hand me down Toshiba satelite.
