  Emulating OE
Posted by: kern - 07-25-2016, 01:31 AM - Forum: Super Robot Wars - Replies (7)

I know that usually emulation threads are locked, but I'm hoping this is an exception -- as far as I can tell, Operation Extend is now impossible to buy legally because they removed it from PSN and there's no physical copy you can buy. But if the mods still don't want this post here, feel free to delete it.

I have basically two questions:

1. I followed instructions for how to get the DLC in the right place -- how can I tell that I did it right?

2. I've read that the game is very resource intensive and runs slowly. I have the newest PPSSPP; what are recommended settings for getting it to run well? Or are the newer versions better? I don't have a dedicated GPU but I've been thinking of buying one so I can output video from my computer to both my monitor and my TV, maybe I should go ahead if it will help run this better.

Just announced as the big 25th anniversary title that was teased a few weeks ago on Sonic's official twitter.

Also Sonic Generations 2 was hinted at by the official Sonic Twitter as well. (I tried editing but when I hit save changes it gave some message about confirming to delete the psot?)

Past Event: Olive and the three Colleagues

X Omega second Original character and probably the most popular operator its finally here.

according to Terada Olive became very popular and for this reason they made a Personal Tropper mech for her, and she will have voice lines, on a recent interview the producer team evaded the question regarding Olive mech type, we are now seeing it holding what looks like a sword, so she may be a fighter.

here the summary of the event:

"Hello this is Olive Oppert, from the Mars ruins investigation team. i used to be the operator of the Alpha Omega team, and now will receive a transfer to another organization.

Now I'm a member of Solis the mars investigation team, "Solis" as a pilot of the new weapon Heiherm.

i'm busy with training everyday.

there's another 3 girls here, a mysterious monster was revived from the bottom of the ocean, once this happened we will be fighting him together."

Next on Super Robot Wars X Omega "Olive and her friends"

ok at this point we have hints, the new series is a series of mechs, but is also a series of mechs involving 3 girls on the main cast, that wiil most probably be the next event base gatcha.

please Olive be a Blaster be a Blaster but she looks like a fighter right? all this hype pose thing i can see she doing a Tlink Olive knuckle or something

Time its starting: day 24 Japan time

also the next series its 80% this:

Any other fans of this series?

Recently Compile Heart started a count down side, though it was unknown what it was for. Some people thought it was a new Neptune game, but most dismissed it beacuse the artwork on incredibly more detailed then anything from the Neptune series. Turns out, It IS the next Neptune game.

  Multiple Trekgasms

I seem to be watching a lot of Netflix but in reality I have only been subscribed since February, I think. But from the get-go, the first show I searched for was Star Trek TNG. I was disappointed to find that only the First Contact movie is available among the classics. But last week I was surprised to find that they included the Voyager series in their library. Not particulary happy cos it wasn't TNG, the only Star Trek I'm a fan of. But went watching anyway. I reckon Voyager should be better than no Star Trek at all.

I was done with one episode yesterday when I saw Star Trek TNG is also available as a recommendation while the credits were scrolling. I went to search for it later to add it to my favorites when VIOLA! Not only TNG has become available, they also upfuckingloaded Enterprise, Deep Space Nine and the animated series (70's i think?). The 60's original isn't there but I ain't complaining, I was never interested in that one, being too dated and all.

My opinions on Voyager, it's crew is not as charismatic and didn't have the same chemistry the TNG crew has BUT(!) it's better in a few other ways. Being more recent, their science is also more recent. Being a less classic show, it had less dull moments/scenes/instances that older TV shows and movies suffer from, TNG included. Then being displaced in space for a distance of 75 of their ship's warp years from home, the prospect of isolation, survival and going back home to the Federation space really differentiated it from the first two series and opened up a different course of storytelling and makes them unique as far as Federation explorations are concerned.

Their "Doctor" is also particularly unique and interesting. A character with a library of intellect but often the source of humor for the show. Actor is perfect for the role - comical, serious, respectable.

I'm planning on getting acquainted with Deep Space Nine after I finish one season of Voyager then maybe Enterprise if I don't feel overdosed. While watching one or two TNG episodes in-between =)

Edit: Episode 6 of Voyager is "ironically" touching btw.

It's mobage based on the Fate/ franchise. Been playing it for about a year now, and so far enjoying it for the most part (even if the Gacha rates are pretty bull shit and ART Dink cna't stop screwing up)

Quote:“I played the 2nd Super Robot Wars in junior high school and couldn’t stop loving this franchise from that time. At the same time, Super Robot Wars has taught me how to make animations. I think for fighting scenes, only SD mechas can make the most powerful moves. To make awesome animation for those fatty mecha, the animation itself is really cool.”

Quote:Super Robot Wars games are my favorites as they always make the top quality 2D animation in the industry, which inspires me a lot. Gundam Versus features really tight controls too. In 3D mecha games, nobody does it better than this.”

All I can say is, it's really "inspired" by Super Robot Wars style original robots. I think those two robots looked very familiar to me....
Game looked awesome, though.

Quote:Animedia Layzner cancelled Grados Arc reveal, as transcribed from excerpts. Issue number not known to me as of writing. The whole article has yet to be archived, hopefully that'll happen soon. I'm holding out for the hero at animarchive to come through with that one someday.

Each vignette was illustrated:

Anyway, here we go, in order:

p61

Director Takahashi Ryousuke Reveals: This is the 52-episode version of Layzner!

"Layzner", which wrapped up at 38 episodes, had a story that consisted of a whole 52 episodes. The details of this story are revealed here!

Judgement
Having brought peace to Earth, Eiji and Julia are once again victims of its folly. Just as Gradosians have no right to rule over Earthlings, so do Earthlings have no right to pass judgement on Gradosians. But Eiji's argument falls on deaf ears.

p62

Rescue
The trial should have been nothing but a farce, but the decision it handed down was far from a laughing matter. The Gradosians are being abused by Earthlings for fun. Eiji spurs on Layzner, and begins to fight for them.

Escape
Perhaps Earthlings and Gradosians are not capable of uniting after all. Eiji leads the Gradosians' exodus. But just like the way that Julia proposed, this solution is only a temporary measure that takes the form of a flight.

p63

Faceoff
Le Caine has quite honorably kept his promise to Rowan and returned home. But he still has to settle the matter of his fight with Eiji, and the matter of his life philosophy.

Reunion
Eiji is not the only one to have suffered these past three years. Eiji's parents have also lived as prisoners on Grados after seeing off their only son. Overcoming their pain, parents and son meet once more.

p64

Climax
The Main Computer is the inheritor of the will of the original native Gradosians, and the one responsible for raising the modern Gradosian people. Eiji and Layzner face off against the Main Computer in an effort to convey the secret it holds to all Gradosians.
